Subject: Birth
A son, Joshua Rupert Herrick, was born to Staci and Dan Herrick on Friday, August 31, 2001, at 7:32 pm. The little peanut was born a few weeks early, and caused an extended (five day) stay in the hospital waiting for him to poke his head out, but it's well worth it! Joshua weighed in at 5 pounds 13.5 ounces. Staci and Dan were guests of the hospital from Tuesday through Saturday. Dan and Staci are very grateful to everyone who was a part of this experience and to Joshua for entering and enriching their lives.

Subject: Wedding
Dan Herrick and Staci Barton were joined in marriage on May 26, 2001, at Avery Park in Fort Collins, Colorado. Evan Hodkins presided in the ceremony. The best man was Aaron Graham, son of the bride, and the maid of honor was Rebecca Barton, daughter of the bride. The reception was held at the Bellvue Grange Hall.

Subject: Graduation
Angel Herrick has graduated from Colorado State University (Fort Collins, Colorado) with her Bachelor of Arts (English) degree. She plans to attend graduate school at CSU, beginning with the Fall 2001 semester.

Staci Barton has graduated from Front Range Community College (Fort Collins, Colorado) with her Associate of Arts degree. She plans to transfer to Colorado State University, where she will major in Liberal Arts.

Subject: Deceased
With deepest regrets, we relate that Dr. Rupert F. Herrick, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, died February 7, 2001, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital. The funeral service was February 10, at the United Methodist Church in Spirit Lake, Iowa, with a graveside service at Union Cemetery in Pomeroy, Iowa. He will be greatly missed. Rupert was born July 2, 1908, in Humboldt, Iowa, to Dr. R.C. and Isabelle Sexke Herrick. Rupert married Beulah Jones on August 10, 1938, in Nashua, Iowa. Beulah passed away August 12, 1998. Rupert and Beulah had three children, Sally, Rupert and Susan. Dr. R. F. Herrick graduated from Gilmore City High School, before attending and graduating from the University of Iowa. He then went on to graduate from the University of Iowa Dental School. Rupert practiced Dentistry for over 40 years in Pomeroy, before retiring to Spirit Lake, Iowa, in 1976. Rupert was a member of the American Legion, Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, a past president of the Fort Dodge District Dental Society, past member of the City Council, a past president of the school board and the founder of the Boy Scouts, all of Pomeroy. He served in the Army Dental Corp in WWII and was active in the Tri-Boji Beach improvements. Rupert enjoyed wintering in the Ft. Meyers, Florida, area for over 20 years, fishing, hunting, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and simply spending time with friends and family. Dr. Herrick is survived by a daughter, Sally Haas, and her husband, Jerry of Spirit Lake; a son, Rupert L. Herrick, and his wife Debra of Ft. Collins, Colorado; a brother, Judge Maurice Herrick, and his wife, Margierite of Indianola; six grandchildren, Tim McClelland and his wife, Cristi, Paul McClelland, Dan Herrick and his fiance Staci, Joe Herrick and his wife, Angel, Mike Herrick, and Chad Linzman; five great-grandchildren, Emily, Hannah, Morgan, Rebecca and Aaron. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Beulah; a daughter, Susan; two brothers, Dr. T. G. Herrick and Dr. D. L. Herrick.

Dan Herrick and Staci Barton announced that they are expecting a new child! The conception date is approximately January 2, 2001, and the due date is September 26, 2001.
